Hotel experience: 5 star Destination experience: 5 star
TRIP DETAILS: 3 nights with parents and sister, age 5. Standard room with 2 double beds, garden view. Room was nice.
STAFF: Check in was easy and staff was friendly. Especially liked Julie, a counselor at the kids camp. She was nice & fun, took care of me when I got hurt.
POOLS: The hotel had about 6 pools and we used 3 of them during stay. I think the best pool for kids was the lazy river part.
ACTIVITIES: We stayed over the Fourth of July weekend. There was a really fun 4th of July carnival – my favorite activity. Also really liked the kids club.
KIDS CLUB: recommend for ages 4-12. Activities were painting, jewelry making, swimming, bounce house (Discovery Junction). Liked it and the staff.
FOOD: The hotel Favorite restaurant was Brennan’s for breakfast – liked the Texas shaped waffles! Also had room service – ordered the mac ‘n cheese – did not like it.
Ate food at the pool. Pool food was standard kids fare according to my mom.
MISC HOTEL INFO: hotel has an awesome shuttle service. the pool had a great water slide. Kids activities in the late afternoon/evenings such as movies on the lawn, “Little Chefs” where kids could
create fun snacks. s’more making at the fire pit.
STUFF FOR PARENTS: My daddy really like the golf course and my mommy enjoyed the gym. Had a spa but they did not use it. Thought hotel was definitely worth it and had a great vacation too close to home.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES: right next to Six Flags. Went to La Cantera Mall – awesome! great shopping and restaurants.
Do you think the hotel/resort helped to make the overall vacation better than if you stayed somewhere else? YES – they (Westin) even gave kids gift bags when we walked in. They had 4th of July inspired knick-knacks.
